Weekly Photo Challenge: Foreign

Well this was a tough one this week.

I suppose I could have posted a photo of Mr. C reacting to something, something that was “foreign” to him, but I couldn’t really find a photo that fit the description as well as I’d like.  I could have posted yet another photo of the last foreign vacation I went on, but I’ve posted so many photos from that trip that they’re not really so foreign anymore.

But we do like food, a lot.  So here’s a photo of some of the foreign foods we have in the house right now.  This took about five minutes to set up.   If I had taken longer I’m sure I could come up with more.  We don’t seem to have any foreign cheese in the house right now, but we usually have at least two.

Fig jam from Croatia, Illy coffee from Italy, L’Estornell olive oil from Spain, Fibonaci Balsamic vinegar from Italy, Mieli Thun honey from Italy, Manuka honey from New Zealand, La Salamandra dolce de leche from Argentina, a bottle of Pimm’s from England, a bottle of Aperol from Italy, a small container of Ichimi Togarashi spice from Japan, and a large container of Bensdorf cocoa from Holland.    All good stuff.

That’s Mr. C going for the Bendsdorf cocoa.  We made some hot chocolate after the photo shoot was done.

    • Hard one this time! I do like doing this challenge, as it has changed the way I take photos. I used to take just a lot of landscape shots and shots of whoever was on the outing/vacation. Now I tend to take photos of just random interesting things, sometimes it is with the intention of maybe using it in a post, but usually it is just to capture something unusual.

    • It’s really the only thing we’re spending money on these days since we’re on one salary. We’ve cut out a lot of things, we don’t have cable TV, we rarely go out for dinner, in three years we’ve never had a baby sitter, and we’ve cut back on the food somewhat, but we haven’t cut out all of the ‘gourmet’ foods.
