Handing down my grandfather’s easel

My grandfather’s easel.

My grandfather’s paint brushes.

Add a pile of newspaper, some watercolors, and a three year old.

And you get a very messy kitchen.

And one masterpiece.

    • His creativity is growing faster than I can think of things for him to do. ‘Let’s make something else!’ he says. I’d usually rather make something with him than go out and buy a new toy. He can then say ‘I made that!’, and will play with it for months, if not years. We still have a ‘castle’ that we made from a cardboard form that came with some other toy about a year ago — I forget which toy it was that the packing material came from now!
